There are reports of a story that is being talked about on social media after an X user named @ cprkrn claimed to have successfully recovered his own Bitcoin wallet that had been locked for more than 11 years with the help of Anthropic's Claude AI to regain access to five BTC of Bitcoin that now totals nearly US $400,000 or around US $13 million.

The owner of the wallet says that back in college, he used to buy Bitcoin, kept it for about 5 BTC. It was only about $250 per 1 BTC, but one day he changed his wallet password while he was intoxicated before forgetting his completely set code.

Over the years, he tried every way to recover the bag, using the Brute Force, Hashcat method, and tools like btcrecover to randomize trillions of passwords, but it was unsuccessful, leaving hundreds of thousands of coins worth of Bitcoin within reach but out of reach.

A turning point came some time ago, after he found some mnemonic or old data in a school book and decided to upload all the files from the university-era computer for Claude AI to help analyze.

As a result, AI detects old versions of wallet.dat files that were created before the password change, as well as helps find malfunctions in the recovery process that he missed earlier, specifically problems with password settings that caused btcrecover to malfunction all along.

Once this bug was successfully solved, Claude was able to help organize the scattered data and eventually led to the unlocking of the private key of the wallet, allowing the owner to successfully transfer all 5 BTC Bitcoin to the new wallet.

However, many people may misunderstand that AI can "hack Bitcoin," but in fact, this case does not involve a blockchain hack or a private key guess from the air, because the owner already has important information, both wallet files, seed phrases, backups, and possible password sets, but they are scattered and contain errors in the original recovery procedure.
