Bored of CCleaner, check this out.
Anyone who gets tired of CCleaner because of a lot of ads or wants to find a serious free-to-use garbage file cleaner might try to look at BleachBit, an open-source cleaner whose selling point is free, no ads, and no subscription system, but can also clear Temp files, caches, cookies, usage history, and residual files, similar to many famous system cleaners.

Most recently, BleachBit released an update to the surrounding 6.0.2 version. It's interesting to start adding file cleaners for more AI tools and developers. Whether it's Claude Code, Visual Studio Code, Codium, Antigravity, Cursor, Windsurf, and Devin, it can also clear AI model files generated by Google Chrome. It's considered an update to the era when many people started using AI tools, writing code, or working more on their own machines.

BleachBit 6.0.2 also adds a DNS cache clearing feature, which is useful in cases where users can't get into the web after changing their DNS, using a VPN, solving Hosts files, or having strange network problems because it can more easily depress pending DNS cleanup, as well as better support multi-profile cleanup of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, from where many people may have multiple accounts, multiple profiles, separate tasks, separate personal tasks, or separate web tests.

The developer side has increased benefits because this version supports scanning and clearing residual files from Python virtual environment or venv, pycache folders, node _ modules, and .angular, which are often quiet local area eaters, especially those who code or experiment with a series of projects.

Another point of improvement is the Shredding feature, or Secure File Deleting. When a file is deleted from a path through the clipboard, the program clears the clipboard on Windows to reduce the likelihood that file path or critical information is left out, as well as improving performance, stability, and solving multiple points on both Windows and Linux.

However, although BleachBit is a free and open source program, users should check the items to clear before actually pressing, especially cookies, web access history, or some cache files, because unchecked clearing may require a new web login or require some programs to create a new cache later.
