Greetings from CoMo Tattoo
Ten years ago today, Alisha and I got married. Everything we've built since has been built together.
I started my first apprenticeship in 2006 in Nebraska. Learned to pierce in Omaha, finished my last apprenticeship in Lake Ozark, and spent years traveling conventions, building a collection of American tattoo history, and trying to understand this craft as deeply as I could. In 2020, Columbia became home.
After more than 13 years tattooing professionally and six years here, we're proud to announce what we've been working toward the whole time:
The Columbia Tattoo Company
Located near downtown, a street shop built on walk-in tattoos, walk-in piercings, and large scale custom work.
We've always been drawn to the history of this craft. The flash, the characters, the shops that kept it simple and kept it alive. That's what The Columbia Tattoo Company is about.
None of this exists without Alisha. The shop, the roots, the decade of showing up for each other and for this community.
Missouri has been my home since 2012 and Columbia, home for the last six years. This shop is us continuing a tradition and putting roots deeper into both.
Thank you to everyone who's supported us along the way.
Starting a new tattoo shop is a milestone that reflects not only artistic growth but also deep community roots. Having spent over a decade immersing myself in the tattoo culture—from learning piercing techniques in Omaha to absorbing the heritage of American tattoo flash across conventions—I can deeply appreciate the significance of establishing The Columbia Tattoo Company in 2020. The blend of walk-in services alongside bespoke large-scale pieces is a thoughtful approach, appealing to both spontaneous visitors and dedicated tattoo collectors. As someone who values the storytelling behind tattoos, I find that shops like this, which honor the 'flash' traditions and maintain straightforward, authentic service, play a crucial role in keeping the art alive and evolving. Columbia, Missouri, with its vibrant art scene and community spirit, offers the perfect backdrop for this tattoo company’s philosophy. The personal journey shared—building over a decade of experience, supporting each other through milestones, and planting deeper roots in both the craft and the local culture—resonates strongly with anyone seeking meaningful body art. The announcement "Opening Soon! Follow Us @comotattooco" is an excellent call to action, inviting tattoo enthusiasts to witness the unfolding of a new chapter in Columbia’s creative landscape. From my experience, following a tattoo company's journey on social platforms not only keeps you updated on booking opportunities but also offers inspiration and education about tattoo artistry. Supporting local tattoo businesses that cherish traditions yet welcome modern creativity enriches the community and offers clients a range of styles and experiences. Whether you’re a first-timer looking for a walk-in piercing or a tattoo aficionado interested in a custom, large-scale piece, The Columbia Tattoo Company stands as a beacon of dedication and craft in the heart of Missouri.
