DITL Of A Dean’s List Student!
I love hop sticking to a schedule each day because it helps me stay on top of everything I need to get done. Having a clear plan keeps me focused and productive, and I feel less overwhelmed knowing exactly what I need to tackle and when. It’s also really satisfying to check things off my list throughout the day—it keeps me motivated and gives me a sense of accomplishment. Whether it’s work, studying, or personal tasks, a schedule helps me balance it all and ensures I’m making progress without feeling like I’m constantly rushing or forgetting something important.

It's so true that finding balance as a student can feel like a juggling act! When I first started out, I struggled to fit everything in – studying, seeing friends, eating right, and actually getting sleep. But what I've learned, and what really comes through in my daily routine (you might have seen my pink planner!), is that a structured schedule isn't about restriction; it's about freedom and making sure nothing important gets left behind. One of the biggest lessons for me has been about intentionally creating blocks of time to connect with friends and family regularly. It’s not just about doing great in classes; having a robust social life is essential for mental well-being. Instead of just hoping I’ll have time, I literally schedule it in. Whether it's a quick coffee break with a friend or a scheduled call with family, these pre-planned moments keep me connected without sacrificing my study goals. It’s amazing how much more present you can be when you know your social time is just as important as your study time. And speaking of study, my schedule is a game-changer for improving study skills. You saw some of those mathematical equations on the whiteboard – those require deep focus! By having dedicated 'deep work' sessions, sometimes on my tablet for notes or reviewing, I’m not just cramming. I’m engaging with the material, reviewing my note review sessions from earlier, and really understanding it. I've found that breaking down big tasks into smaller, manageable chunks throughout the day, like my focused study session in the evening, makes learning so much more effective. It’s about quality, not just quantity. Now, about managing social media – this is huge! The queries mentioned 'using social media extensively,' and it's easy to get sucked in. My trick is to integrate it thoughtfully. I don't check it during my deep work hours. Instead, I might allow myself a quick scroll during a scheduled break or as part of my winding down routine before bed. This way, I can stay connected without letting it derail my productivity. It’s all about setting boundaries so social media serves me, not the other way around. Finally, getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising are non-negotiables for me to stay on the Dean's List. My 6:30 AM morning routine including breakfast isn’t just about fuel; it sets a positive tone for the day. And that 12:00 PM lunch isn’t just for eating; it’s a mental break. I also make sure to fit in a 6:00 PM workout or relaxation activity. These aren't luxuries; they're essential parts of my schedule that keep my brain sharp and my energy levels high. Without them, everything else falls apart. My planning time at night ensures I've got everything mapped out, including my wind-down. It's truly a holistic approach to student life.
