If a friend asked me whether CS is still worth it in 2025, I’d say yeah... but it’s definitely not the golden ticket it used to be. The degree is still solid, but it’s not enough on its own anymore. I’ve seen people graduate with a CS degree and still struggle to land jobs because they didn’t build anything outside of class or develop real-world skills.
What’s helped me (and what I always recommend) is focusing on more than just grades. Build a portfolio, even if it’s just small personal projects.
