10 Ways to Make School 10x Easier (NO Gatekeeping)
No one likes a gatekeeper, so I’m sharing all my secret ways to make school 10x easier! There’s literally no reason to be stressing out over your classes, when there are so many tips and resources out there to make everything more manageable!
10 Ways to Make School Easier:
1️⃣ Create a “Study Starter” ritual: One small trigger like filling up a glass of water or lighting a candle will put you in the zone to start studying. I like to have a special scent from bath and body works in the lotion and hand sanitizer spray, on my desk. So when I sit down I use those and the scent immediately tells me “it’s time to start studying” haha.
2️⃣ Start utilizing AI tools: If you aren’t using AI, then you are making things 10x HARDER for yourself! Using AI in most cases is not cheating, if you are just using it to study and to help better understand topics!
3️⃣ Schedule ‘Fake Deadlines’: Trick your brain into getting your work done earlier than needed, by setting fake due dates at least 2-4 days before the actual due date! That way you will always get your work done on time and even have extra time to review it.
4️⃣ Make friends with smart people: This one sounds kind of funny, but it honestly helps so much. Be social in your classes and build a friend group in each class of smart people that you can study with. You can all help each other ace the class!
5️⃣ Start assignments the day that you get them: Don’t put it off especially if you have nothing else to do that day. Just get the work done now and your future self will thank you!
6️⃣ Use the 2/5/9 Rule for study sessions: Study 2 hours on light days, 5 hours on average days, and 9 hours during crunch time. This gives your week rhythm and prevents burnout. It’s flexible but still structured!
7️⃣ Use Google Calendar to time-block your week: Actually plan out when you’ll study each subject and don’t just “hope” you’ll get to it. Color-code each class, add alerts, and treat your study time like appointments you can’t miss.
8️⃣ Use the “Question-First” method when reading: Before reading a textbook or watching a lecture, write down what you want to learn. It primes your brain to look for the answers and helps you focus more instead of just passively reading.
9️⃣ Keep a “Rolling Study Doc” for each class: Make one Google Doc per class and never start a new one. Just keep adding your notes, summaries, and important links to the same doc. You’ll never lose anything, and it’s so easy to Ctrl+F before a test!
🔟 Do a 3-minute “End-of-Day Wrap-Up”: Before you close your laptop, write down:
- what you studied today
- what you still need to study
- one thing you want to understand better tomorrow
