Not enough. In this day and age, soft skills are very important in the digital world.

1. Understand the job market and salaries.

• Safety Officer salary is around 25-40K

(Up to company experience / size)

• Large or foreign companies, often with bonuses of several months (e.g. 4-6 months) and relatively good welfare.

• Automotive factories / major manufacturing industries need this line of personnel high

2. Basic Hard Skills

• Safety Law: Must Know Safety Act, Environment, Related Labour Law

• Standard system: ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or other international standards

• Specific skills: Accident Investigation, JSA / RA preparation, chemicals management, firefighting, evacuation drills, etc.

3. Soft Skills that make them different from others

• Communication: Difficult matters must be explained to both management and staff.

• Leadership: Safety is not just a document, but a "persuasion" to follow.

• Problem Solving & Negotiation: Solution and negotiation between production and management

• Digital Mindset: Use Excel, Power BI, Canva or even ChatGPT. Make a report / communicate with Impact.

4. Growth path

• Start with Safety Officer → Senior Safety → Safety Supervisor / Manager

• Expand the HSE line (including Environment, Health) to open up opportunities for large / foreign companies.

• If more interested, may be capped as Trainer, Consultant, or Auditor.

5. Job search strategy

• Create a LinkedIn + Resume profile that shows the actual work, such as "Reduce accidents by xx%."

• Apply for JobThai, JobDB, LinkedIn by choosing companies with clear systems and welfare.

• Getting into Community Safety / Occupational Health will help you get more opportunities.

• If wanting high salaries and welfare → Focus on Japanese / European / American companies in Thailand

👉 Summary: Safety work is not difficult to find, but it is "good." It has to mix both Hard skills (knowledge / law / systems) and Soft skills (communication-people-digital), because this era is not enough to know the law, so people want to work safely with us.
