BUT ya gworl got featured in Voyage Austin! I’ve always been behind the scenes so it really cool to see myself getting recognized front and center. I also learned about myself that I LOVE content shoots like this and I want more of this to be in my content repertoire💁🏽♀️
... Read moreOkay, so you guys saw my initial post about being featured in Voyage Austin, and I wanted to dive a little deeper into the whole experience! Honestly, it's still so surreal. For those of you who might not know, Voyage Austin is part of the Voyage Group, which highlights local movers, shakers, and creatives in different cities. They're all about sharing authentic stories and giving a platform to entrepreneurs and artists – basically, people doing cool things in their community.
I remember getting the email, and at first, I thought it might be a dream! They reached out, shared a bit about their mission, and asked if I'd be interested in sharing my story as an Austin lifestyle content creator. Of course, I said YES! The interview process was super chill and conversational, which I loved because it felt like a genuine chat about my passion and journey. We talked about my beginnings, what inspires me, and what I hope to achieve. It was truly an 'About Me' feature, allowing me to share my unique perspective.
Then came the photoshoot – oh my goodness, that was an adventure! I really wanted to capture different facets of my personality and style. One of the sets was at this super cute vintage-style cafe, which was perfect for that 'Daily Inspiration' vibe. We had so much fun playing around with props – I even had this gorgeous latte, some pearl jewelry, and a fabulous leopard print scarf that added such a chic touch to the shots. You might have seen some pics where I'm rocking a black dress with striking red gloves and a patterned headscarf – totally channeling some old Hollywood glamour mixed with my own flare! And yes, those sunglasses definitely completed the look.
Another setup was outdoors, and for that, I chose a vibrant pink blazer and, of course, my signature pink hair! It felt so empowering to be in front of the camera, embodying the brand that is myself. It wasn't just about pretty pictures; it was about telling a visual story that complemented the 'About Me' feature they were putting together. The team was incredible, making me feel so comfortable and confident throughout.
Being recognized by a platform like Voyage Austin isn't just a personal win; it's also a huge motivation to keep creating and sharing. It truly validates all the hard work that goes into content creation, from planning shoots to editing and engaging with you all. If you're an aspiring creator or dreaming of a feature like this, my biggest advice is to stay authentic, connect with your local community, and never stop putting yourself out there. You never know who's watching and what opportunities might come your way! I'm so grateful for this experience and can't wait to see what's next on this amazing journey.
