Cajun Beef and Shrimp Stir-Fry 🍤🔥

A bold and flavorful stir-fry featuring tender beef, succulent shrimp, and vibrant veggies with a Cajun twist.

Ingredients:

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced

1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup beef broth

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Season Beef and Shrimp:

In a bowl, combine the beef and shrimp. Sprinkle Cajun seasoning over them, tossing to coat evenly.

2️⃣ Sear Beef and Shrimp:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the seasoned beef and shrimp. Sear for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and the beef is browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3️⃣ Stir-Fry Vegetables:

In the same skillet, add the bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.

4️⃣ Deglaze and Simmer:

Pour in the beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet. Return the beef and shrimp to the skillet, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes for the flavors to meld.

5️⃣ Finish and Serve:

Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over cooked rice and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

For those new to Cajun cooking, starting with store-bought Cajun seasoning offers a great introduction to the vibrant spices that define this cuisine, such as paprika, cayenne pepper, and oregano. When preparing this dish, consider adding extra vegetables like snap peas or carrots for added nutritional value and color. Notably, the versatility of this stir-fry allows for adjustments based on seasonal produce or personal preferences. You can substitute beef sirloin with chicken or tofu for different dietary needs without compromising flavor. Cooking techniques like searing meat in high heat not only ensures that the proteins remain tender but also enhances the overall taste with a delightful caramelization process. Similarly, stir-frying ensures quick cooking while preserving the crunchiness of bell peppers. Serving the stir-fry over rice is traditional, but you might also try cauliflower rice for a low-carb alternative. Don't hesitate to elevate your dish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten the flavors. Overall, the Cajun Beef and Shrimp Stir-Fry is not just a comforting dinner option but also an excellent way to explore and enjoy Cajun cooking at home.

Thank you for sharing this Cajun beef and shrimp meal with us and the recipe as well. I think this recipe will go well with some rice or some mashed potatoes and I would put some green peppers as well.
