Let’s make a Fresh Peach Crisp but a little healthier!

It’s peach season and there is nothing better than using fresh picked peaches for a peach crisp! This is such an easy dessert and perfect for those summer nights! I replaced regular sugar with stevia to make it a little more healthy!

Ingredients:

Filling:

5-6 peaches

3 tbsp stevia

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tbsp lemon juice

Cinnamon

Topping:

1/2 cup oats

1/2 cup flour

1/4 cup swerve brown sugar

pinch of salt

1/4 cup cold butter, diced into small pieces

Preheat oven to 375F and grease a baking dish.

Peel and slice peaches. Add into your baking dish.

Add cinnamon, corn starch, lemon juice, and stevia to the peaches and mix.

In a separate bowl combine all ingredients for the topping and cut in the butter. You want it to be crumbly and different sizes of crumb.

Add your crumble on top of the sliced peaches evenly spread out.

bake for 20-25 minutes.

Remove and let cool a few minutes before eating.

Serve with vanilla ice cream or cool whip!

... Read moreI love making this fresh peach crisp during the peach season because using fresh-picked peaches really elevates the flavor. One tip I've found helpful is to ensure the peaches are just ripe but still firm, so they hold their shape well during baking. The inclusion of stevia and Swerve brown sugar in the recipe makes it a delightful low-calorie dessert option without sacrificing sweetness. When preparing the topping, cutting the cold butter into the oat mixture until crumbly creates a nice balance of texture—some bigger crumble pieces add a rustic feel to the dessert. I also like to add a pinch of nutmeg or ground ginger along with cinnamon for extra warmth and depth in flavor. If you prefer a more natural thickening agent, you can substitute corn starch with arrowroot powder or tapioca starch. Baking at 375F for 20-25 minutes works well, but watch for a golden brown topping and bubbling juices before taking it out. Letting it cool a few minutes before serving helps the crust set better. Serving it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of cool whip offers a classic summer dessert experience. This peach crisp is a great way to enjoy fresh summer fruit with a healthier twist by reducing refined sugar. It’s simple to make, requires minimal ingredients, and offers a comforting yet fresh taste—perfect for sharing with family and friends during warm evenings. Definitely a go-to recipe in my kitchen during peach season!

There is something unmatched about cooking a good crumble or crisp in a cast iron dish. I swear it makes it taste way better for some reason 😍
