Dorm & College Essentials You Actually Need

Although I don’t live on campus anymore, some of my main dorm essentials—aka life essentials—are:

A laptop 💻

An iPad 📱

A planner (physical or digital) 📒

A SNACK DRAWER (most important 🍫)

Honestly, if you live on campus, you don’t need much else! There are plenty of dining options available, and if you're in a college town, chances are there’s always somewhere open late. And if all else fails… there’s always UberEats! 🚀🍕

I lived on campus for two years, and every time I moved, I realized I had way too much stuff. Do NOT overpack on clothes! You think you’ll need everything, but trust me—you won’t.

DO bring a laundry basket and detergent. Ideally, get one that’s easy to carry (that’s what I had, and it made life so much easier).

I was never required to bring textbooks to class, so I rarely carried a backpack. Instead, I just brought my laptop or iPad since I could take notes on both. If I ever needed a bag, I’d use a one of the free bags I got during the first week of the semester.

Lastly, remember to take advantage of local dining options, and don’t hesitate to use food delivery services when needed!
