Atlanta Magazine releases an annual list of 500 of the city's most powerful and impactful leaders and among those named this year, Morehouse boasts 16 alumni among this august group of people who truly make a difference in Atlanta.

The annual list recognizes the most influential leaders in education, business, the arts, and nonprofit organizations across metro Atlanta.

We are extremely proud of the legacy of leadership that Morehouse alumni have contributed to remain standout leaders and influential pillars in the Atlanta community and it is gratifying to see that the tradition continues today.

Morehouse College alumni in the 2026 Atlanta 500 list include:

F. DuBois Bowman '92, Ph.D.

President • Morehouse College

F. DuBois Bowman, a 1992 graduate of Morehouse College, was named as the college’s 13th president following a national search effective July 15, 2025. Bowman previously served as dean of the University of Michigan School of Public Health, a top-ranked school of public health with more than 1,300 students and an annual sponsored research portfolio exceeding $100 million. A nationally respected scholar, innovator, and academic leader, Bowman is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, a fellow of the American Statistical Association, and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Prior to his deanship at Michigan, Bowman held academic and leadership positions at Columbia University and Emory University. A member of Phi Beta Kappa and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Bowman has remained closely connected to his alma mater as a two-time Morehouse parent.

Curley Dossman Jr. '73, Esq.

President of Community Relations • Georgia Pacific, Georgia Pacific Foundation

Curley Dossman Jr. leads the organization's charitable giving program, which focuses on four areas: education, environment, enrichment and entrepreneurship. he also oversees Georgia-Pacific's community affairs efforts, including national disaster relief. Previously Dossman spent a

decade as the state vice president of government affairs for AT&T.

Michael Hatcher '98, Ph.D.

President and CEO • Sovereign Construction & Development

Michael Hatcher is the president and CEO of Sovereign Construction & Development, which specializes in commercial interior renovations and construction management. Hatcher, who founded the fi rm in 2007, brings a wealth of experience related to integrated project delivery and collaborative construction practices, and believes construction should be a vehicle for innovation and a platform for inspiration.

Paul Judge '99, Ph.D

Chairman and Managing Partner • Open Opportunity Fund

Paul Judge is chairman and managing partner of Open Opportunity Fund, a technology venture capital fund focused on investing in and partnering with outstanding overlooked founders. A technology entrepreneur and investor, Judge is cofounder of Pindrop, a provider of voice security for some of the world’s largest banks and enterprises which has received over $200 million of venture capital funding, He is also a cofounder of Greenwood, a fi ntech company providing banking services for minorities. He previously co-led Panoramic Ventures and TechSquare Labs. He has cofounded three companies that were acquired. He cofounded Purewire which was acquired by Barracuda Networks in 2008. Prior to this, he was the chief technology offi cer at CipherTrust, which was acquired by Secure Computing in 2006.

Milton J. Little Jr. '76, M.A.

President • United Way of Greater Atlanta

Milton J. Little Jr. became the fi rst African American president of United Way of Greater Atlanta in 2007. In that role, he’s helped raise more than half a billion dollars for local community needs and redirected the organization’s focus to increasing the well-being of the region’s children. Before joining United Way of Greater Atlanta, the largest United Way in the U.S., Little served as chief operating offi cer and interim president of the National Urban League. In 2024, the Atlanta Business Chronicle recognized Little as a Most Admired CEO.

Michael L. Lomax '68, Ph.D.

President and CEO • UNCF

Since 2004, Dr. Michael L. Lomax has served as president and CEO of UNCF, the nation’s largest private provider of scholarships and other educational support to African American students. Under his leadership, UNCF has raised more than $4 billion and helped more than 300,000 students earn college degrees and launch careers. Annually, UNCF’s work enables 50,000 students to go to college with UNCF scholarships and attend its 37-member historically black colleges and universities. Before joining UNCF, Dr. Lomax was president of Dillard University in New Orleans and a literature professor at UNCF-member institutions Morehouse and Spelman Colleges. He also founded the National Black Arts Festival, was a founding member of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, and served as chairman of the Fulton County Commission in Atlanta, the fi rst African American elected to that post. In 2025, Lomax received the distinguished GSV (Global Silicon Valley) 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award during the ASU (Arizona State University) +GSV Summit.

Donté Miller '15

Co-Founder and President • Village Micro Fund

Donte Miller is president of the nonprofit Village Micro Fund, which he founded in 2014 with Nathan Jones and Robin McKinnie. The organization offers support and classes to entrepreneurs in underserved communities and uses crowdfunding to invest in small businesses. VMF also created a Worker’s Equity Fund that uses equity investments to turn small businesses into worker-owned cooperatives by selling shares back to employees. Previously, Miller has had work experience at Goldman Sachs, Google, and the Atlanta Micro Fund, and he’s been featured on WABE and in The Bitter Southerner. In 2022, Miller was included on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

Ceasar C. Mitchell Jr. '90, Esq.

A partner at Dentons, Ceasar C. Mitchell Jr. is a member of the fi rm’s Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs team as well as the head of its interdisciplinary Local Government Solutions practice, which bridges the public and private sectors to meet the challenges facing local and state governments. Mitchell is past president of the Atlanta City Council, where he served two four year terms as an at-large member while maintaining a legal practice in which he brought his policy advocacy, regulatory compliance, and real estate experience and relationships to bear. An Atlanta native, Mitchell has been active on several boards including boards for Hands On Atlanta and the Midtown Alliance.

C. David Moody Jr. '78

President • C.D. Moody Construction

C. David Moody Jr. founded C.D. Moody Construction in 1988. Now one of the U.S.’s largest African American-owned construction companies, Moody’s fi rm has appeared every year for more than two decades on Black Enterprise magazine’s list of the nation’s top 100 Blackowned industrial/services companies. The fi rm has undertaken more than 200 commercial projects valued at over $2 billion, including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the new home of the Cyclorama at the Atlanta History Center, and the Maynard Jackson International Terminal.

Eric Paulk '03, Esq.

Chief of Staff • ProGeorgia

Committed to advancing racial justice, LGBTQ rights, and the dignity of communities impacted by HIV, Eric Paulk serves as the chief of staff at ProGeorgia, the state’s progressive civic engagement table. In this role, Paulk oversees organizational strategy, staff leadership, and multi-sector partnerships aimed at building power for historically marginalized communities across Georgia. Prior to joining ProGeorgia, Paulk served as deputy director at Georgia Equality, where he led the organization’s advocacy portfolio, playing a central role in the successful effort to reform Georgia’s HIV criminalization law and pass nondiscrimination ordinances in municipalities statewide.

Michael 'Killer Mike' Render (Ex. '97)

GRAMMY Award winning musician, Entrepreneur, Activist

Michael Render might be as famous for his activism as he is for his music: Raised in the Adamsville–Collier Heights neighborhood, the Grammy-winning rapper served on Keisha Lance Bottoms’s mayoral transition team and was a prominent supporter of Bernie Sanders. Render’s advocacy on behalf of the #BankBlack movement helped move an estimated $60 million to Black-owned banking institutions, and he was appointed to the board of the High Museum of Art. In 2020, he partnered with Bounce TV founder Ryan Glover and former Atlanta Mayor and civil rights activist Andrew Young to create Greenwood Bank, a Black-owned online bank that caters to economically underserved Black and Latino communities across the United States. Render performs as Killer Mike in the hiphop duo Run the Jewels. In 2023, he won three Grammy Awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for his song Scientists & Engineers featuring André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane and Best Rap Album for his latest album Michael. The Georgia State Senate adopted a resolution recognizing Render for his music career, political advocacy, and work supporting historically marginalized communities in Georgia on 404 Day 2025.

Nathaniel Q. Smith '97, M.S.

Founder and Chief Equity Officer • Partnership for Southern Equity

Nathaniel Smith founded and serves as chief equity offi cer of the Partnership for Southern Equity, which promotes racial equity and shared prosperity for all in metropolitan Atlanta and the American South. PSE focuses on energy equity, economic inclusion, and equitable development, and created the South’s first equity-mapping tool, the Metro Atlanta Equity Atlas. PSE led a coalition of diverse stakeholders to support a $13 million transit referendum that expanded MARTA into a new county for the first time in 45 years. In 2023, PSE received a $3.5 million grant from the Bezos Earth Fund to support urban greening in the Atlanta region.

Louis W. Sullivan '54, M.D.

With the exception of his four-year tenure as secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which ended in 1993, Sullivan was president of Morehouse School of Medicine for more than 20 years. He also founded the Sullivan Alliance (now part of the Association of American Medical Colleges), which aims to increase the numbers of ethnic and racial minorities in health care, and is chairman of the Georgia Global Health Alliance.

Hon. Rev. Raphael G. Warnock '91, Ph.D.

Pastor • Ebenezer Baptist Church

Since 2005, Reverend Raphael Warnock has served as Senior Pastor of Atlanta’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the former pulpit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., becoming the youngest pastor to lead the congregation. A longtime advocate for social justice, he has worked to expand health care access, protect voting rights, and address poverty and mass incarceration. Elected Georgia’s first Black U.S. Senator in 2021 and reelected to a full term in 2022, Senator Warnock has advanced legislation on job creation, maternal health, and lowering insulin costs for seniors. He currently serves on four Senate committees and continues to champion policies supporting health care access, rural communities, gun violence prevention, and voting rights.
