Today I received another waitlist notification for a festival. Jewelry truly is such a difficult and competitive medium that it makes applying a bit hard. I have been waitlisted to 3 festivals and rejected to 2 so far this year. I got off the waitlist for 1 though!
So here’s to hoping I get off the waitlist to the other one and maybe get accepted to some other big festivals that I REALLY want to participate in! Send good vibes to me!
With that being said, I did have a few of my Instagram reels go viral this week! One with over 1.7 million views and a few that are 13-100 thousand views! I shall keep pushing! Thank you all for being here and choosing to support me through Copper Ashes. I’m honored to adorn you 💕
Navigating the world of jewelry festivals can be both exciting and daunting, especially with the fierce competition artists face. From personal experience, receiving multiple waitlist notifications and rejections is common, but it's important to see these as steps toward eventual success rather than setbacks. One strategy that has helped is staying active on social media platforms like Instagram. Creating engaging reels and sharing the story behind each piece of jewelry helps build a supportive community and catch the attention of festival organizers. Viral content not only boosts visibility but also opens new doors for exhibition opportunities. Additionally, building relationships with other artists and festival coordinators through consistent networking can increase your chances of acceptance. Persistence is key; even if you are waitlisted multiple times, keep applying and refining your work to fit the festival themes and audience better. It's also valuable to balance festival applications with direct sales through online shops or local markets to maintain financial stability. Celebrating small victories, such as getting off a waitlist or hitting a milestone on social media, keeps motivation high. Ultimately, combining patience, adaptability, and creative marketing helps jewelry artists thrive in this competitive field. Sharing your journey and engaging with supporters cultivates encouragement that fuels continued growth and success.
