This one is a quick read, only 19 chapters. I really enjoyed it, my only complaint is that I wish it was longer because I really fell in love with the characters and would have loved to see more space between the action for them to all breathe a bit more into reality. Because it’s so short it does feel like we rush through all the action. There is the beginning of complexity to the characters but we really don’t get to dive deep with them. It is multiple POVs, which I love. I did enjoy getting to know the “villains” pov, it really pushed that intensity of being on the outside with him and gives that ick feeling that establishes him as the predator. The ending does feel abrupt and I wish there was a little bit of that “few years from now” so we can see the healing and dynamics of what was barely beginning in the story. There is incredible potential here because the story is captivating and I loved every bit of it.

However, I did feel a bit rushed by the rapid unfolding of events. Because the story is compact, there isn’t much space where characters can breathe and develop beyond their initial archetypes. I personally would have loved more scenes that explore their emotions and motivations, which would have given the story more depth and made their journeys feel more immersive and real. Another point worth mentioning is the abrupt ending. While it does close the main narrative arcs, it leaves readers wishing for a glimpse into the characters’ futures—a short epilogue or a 'few years later' scenario would have been so rewarding to see how the characters heal and grow from their experiences. From my perspective, this addition could bring more closure and satisfaction. In summary, if you enjoy fast, action-packed stories balanced with intriguing character perspectives, especially those from the antagonist’s point-of-view, Dark Angel is a great pick. It has an intense, immersive feel despite its short length and hints at a rich world of complex emotions and relationships that could be beautifully expanded in a sequel or extended version. For anyone who loves thriller stories with psychological depth, Dark Angel offers a solid foundation that excites the imagination about what could come next.
