This was a pretty quick read with twenty-six chapters. The pacing while being quick didn’t feel rushed. I really enjoyed this novel. The dynamics between the characters was both heartbreaking and lighthearted. We saw some growth for many of the characters and those who played the villain just kept doubling down. I really enjoyed the lawyer dynamic for our lead female. She was a breath of fresh air in novels that can sometimes feel like our damsels are in distress waiting for a man to ride in. Yes there are moments where people do step in, but never because they think she’s too fragile. Very low spice meter, not much more than kissing. This would definitely be a good young adult book for those wanting to step into the fantasy romance genre. A gateway “drug” if you will 🤭
