suggestions? never been to nyc

... Read moreOh, girl, dreaming of your first NYC trip is the absolute best feeling! As someone who's had the joy of exploring the city a bit, I totally get wanting to build the ultimate bucket list. It's truly a bucket list location NYC for so many reasons, and there’s so much to experience beyond just the famous landmarks. Here are some of my top suggestions to make your first visit unforgettable and truly feel what it's like *living in an old and big city*. First up, you mentioned *sunny days in the city*, and for that, you absolutely HAVE to spend a good amount of time in Central Park. It’s not just a park; it’s an entire world within the city. You can rent a rowboat on The Lake, visit Strawberry Fields, or simply enjoy a leisurely Central Park walk and people-watch. It’s especially beautiful in the spring or fall. For art lovers, the city's museums are unparalleled. The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) are classics, but don't shy away from smaller, more unique spots like The Tenement Museum for a dive into NYC history or the Whitney Museum for modern American art with amazing views. And if your trip happens to coincide with NYFW or even just a particularly fashion-forward week, keep an eye out for street style – it’s perfect for some inspo for your own *fit checks*! When the sun goes down, NYC truly transforms with its incredible *nightlife and city lights*. Catching a Broadway show is a non-negotiable for me – the energy, the talent, it’s just magical! Even if you grab last-minute rush tickets, it’s an experience like no other. Afterward, find a rooftop bar for breathtaking skyline views, or immerse yourself in the cozy, historic jazz clubs of Greenwich Village. The city never sleeps, and neither should you (at least not every night!). Beyond the tourist hotspots, I encourage you to wander. Take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge for iconic views, then explore the DUMBO neighborhood in Brooklyn. It’s got a completely different vibe. Or spend an afternoon getting lost in the charming streets of the West Village, with its beautiful brownstones and hidden cafes. These are the moments where you really start to feel the pulse of an *old and big city*. And we can't forget the food! From a classic dollar pizza slice to a gourmet bagel with lox, the culinary scene is a huge part of the NYC experience. Try some street food from a cart, indulge in a delicious deli sandwich, and maybe even treat yourself to a fancy meal if your budget allows. Every neighborhood has its own culinary treasures waiting to be discovered. Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes – you’ll be doing a lot of walking, and the subway will be your best friend for getting around efficiently!
