An INFERNO!!

Thought I'd show you this backyard fire that my sister and brother in-law set up in our backyard, using old pieces of wood from our back deck, which we're currently working on, as well as some scrap cardboard. More pictures of this to come, as well made more of these during the summer and fall.

Using reclaimed materials like old deck wood and scrap cardboard not only adds a rustic charm to your fire but also promotes sustainability by repurposing what might otherwise be discarded. When setting up your backyard inferno, it's important to choose a safe location, away from flammable structures and overhanging trees, to prevent accidents. Before igniting, ensure your fire pit or designated burning area is clear of debris and has a stone or metal base to contain the blaze. Gathering dry wood and cardboard as kindling helps start the fire quickly and efficiently, and layering larger pieces of wood will keep it going longer. Always have water, a fire extinguisher, or sand nearby to control the fire if needed. Aside from being a source of warmth and light, backyard bonfires create an inviting atmosphere that encourages storytelling, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying the outdoors under the stars. Engaging in such activities can improve mental well-being by fostering social bonds and providing a relaxing break from daily routines. Throughout summer and fall, continuing to build and enjoy these fires is a wonderful way to celebrate the changing seasons while making the most of your outdoor space. Just remember to follow local fire regulations and practice fire safety at all times. By doing so, you’ll create memorable nights filled with the mesmerizing glow of your very own backyard inferno.
