Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share my latest piece – a super adorable chibi drawing of Mew! As you know, Mew is my second favorite Pokémon, and I just had to capture its iconic cuteness in a chibi style. Drawing a cute Mew like this was such a joy, and I wanted to share a bit about my process and maybe some tips if you're looking to create your own kawaii Pokémon artwork! When I started this cute chibi Mew drawing, my main goal was to emphasize its playful and gentle nature. I always begin with a rough sketch, focusing on those classic chibi proportions: a larger head, smaller body, and big, expressive eyes. I really love how the colors pop and how Mew is almost sitting on a patch of grass! Making a Pokémon look 'kawaii' (which means cute in Japanese, for those who don't know!) is all about exaggerating certain features. Think about making the eyes extra large and shiny, giving a soft, rounded shape to the body, and keeping the lines relatively simple and clean. For Mew, its naturally streamlined body and friendly face lend themselves perfectly to being drawn as a cute chibi. I tried to capture that innocent, almost childlike wonder that makes Mew so beloved by fans. This specific Mew drawing really came to life with those details! One of the biggest questions I get is, 'How do you choose which Pokémon to draw next?' For me, it often comes down to personal connection and which Pokémon I feel would translate well into a chibi style. Pokémon with distinct, simple shapes often work best, but you can make almost any Pokémon cute with the right approach! For instance, imagine a fierce Pokémon like Charizard, but drawn in a tiny, round chibi form – it can be both humorous and incredibly cute!
