✨Junk Journal • Taking Risks
Today’s entry is about taking risks….not the reckless kind, but the quiet bravery of saying yes to myself.
Taking risks in my work.
Taking risks in my play.
Letting myself be seen.
Letting myself be a beginner.
Letting myself figure myself out.
Not every step needs a guarantee.
Some paths only reveal themselves once you start walking. Once you take that first step and then another.
I’m learning to trust the process, even when I can’t see the full picture. Especially then.
I give myself permission to experiment.
To change my mind.
To follow what lights me up, even if it doesn’t make sense to everyone else.
Risk is not the absence of fear…it’s choosing to move your feet anyway.
In my personal experience, embracing quiet bravery by taking thoughtful risks has been transformative across different areas of life. Instead of making reckless decisions, I focus on small but meaningful steps that push me out of my comfort zone. This might be starting a new work project without a complete plan or trying a new hobby just for the joy of it. One key lesson I’ve learned is that not every path is visible from the start. Often, clarity and direction only come after taking that initial step, even when the outcome is uncertain. This idea reminds me of the phrase from a junk journal I created, which emphasized staying curious, working hard, being kind, and doing more—just a little beyond what feels safe. Another important aspect is allowing myself to be a beginner and not fearing the mistakes that come with learning. This mindset frees me to experiment and change my mind, which is essential for growth. Following what lights me up, even if it seems unusual to others, has led me to unexpected and rewarding experiences. Trusting the process is perhaps the most challenging but vital part. When I can't see the full picture, I remind myself that progress often involves moving forward on faith and persistence. Choosing to move my feet despite fear has opened many doors. Engaging in creative practices like junk journaling helps capture these reflections visually and emotionally. It serves as a reminder that success is often built on a foundation of quiet courage and small, consistent efforts that add up over time. Encouraging others to adopt this approach can help them find their own path with confidence and joy.
