Seven years of this journey teaches you things about hope that nobody tells you at the beginning.

It teaches you to hold it a little more quietly sometimes. To protect what is left after a hard month. To keep going even when your heart is guarded.

That is where I am this month. Not defeated. Not hopeless. Just guarded. And still going anyway.

I wrote this prayer for the woman who knows exactly what that feels like. Who is still showing up even when showing up is the hardest thing she does all day.

You are not alone in this. Not even close. 💛

Drop a 💛 if you are emotionally guarded but still going this month.

Read moreHaving walked this difficult journey myself, I’ve come to realize that hope isn’t always loud or visible—it’s often a quiet presence you carry deep within, especially after months of emotional hardship. This internal guarding is a natural way to protect what remains intact inside you. Many women facing infertility or chronic conditions like endometriosis find themselves emotionally guarded, not because they have given up, but because they are preserving their strength in a fragile state. The experience of being emotionally guarded while still showing up every day is both exhausting and brave. It’s the kind of resilience that does not require outward recognition but manifests in the small acts of holding on through pain and uncertainty. Personally, I found that embracing this quiet hope allowed me to continue seeking joy and meaning, even in the waiting periods that stretch endlessly. Prayer and gentle self-compassion have been lifelines along this path. Talking to others who understand, whether through support groups or social communities, echoes the importance of not feeling isolated. Sharing a heart guarded but hopeful fosters connection and reminds us that though the journey is tough, we are not alone. If you resonate with this guarded hope, consider nurturing yourself with small routines of kindness and reaching out when you can. Every moment you keep going is a testament to your inner strength, even if it feels unseen. Remember, hope doesn’t always have to be loud—it’s often the softest whisper that keeps us moving forward.
