Some people might think men don’t need this, but

I need y’all to critically think for a second like the rise of clavicular is not an accident. The rise of look maxing is not an accident. As women start having access to money obviously our standards in terms of attractiveness have also gone up and it is impacting the paradigm in a way we just haven’t seen before. The craziest part about doing this one is how hard it was for me to find normal looking men on the Internet like it’s even harder to find normal looking men on the Internet then it is to find normal looking women on the Internet. #menshealth

Read moreThe concept of look maxing—deliberately enhancing one’s appearance to boost attractiveness—has been gaining attention, especially as women’s empowerment and financial independence grow globally. From personal experience and observations, the rise of clavicular emphasis (showing off the collarbones) is one striking example of subtle yet effective look maxing techniques that men are starting to adopt. It's fascinating how evolving societal norms and digital culture shift what is considered attractive. Women having more financial power often leads to higher standards regarding male partners, which places new pressure on men to care more about their looks than previous generations might have experienced. This can be both motivating and challenging. One surprising discovery is how difficult it is to find truly 'normal-looking' men on social media or dating platforms. This indicates either a high level of self-editing by men or an increased interest in curating one's digital presence meticulously. This contrasts with the relative ease of encountering average-looking women online, indicating a unique dynamic in men’s self-presentation. In my own journey of self-improvement, incorporating look maxing strategies—such as focusing on posture to highlight clavicles, improving skincare, adopting a tailored wardrobe, and fitness—has noticeably boosted confidence and presence. It’s important, however, not to lose authenticity. Look maxing isn’t about creating a false image but enhancing one's best features while maintaining genuine personality and health. This trend is also tied to broader men's health topics. Physical well-being, mental health, and self-esteem are interconnected with how men perceive and present themselves. Engaging in practices that improve appearance often lead to better habits overall, such as regular exercise and nutrition, which benefit health beyond aesthetics. Given these shifts, the conversation around men and appearance should be normalized rather than stigmatized. Embracing look maxing can be empowering, helping men meet new social expectations without compromising who they are. It’s less about meeting external beauty ideals and more about maximizing one’s own potential in a holistic way.
