This was a fun, adventurous story that would be perfect for fans of urban fantasy books with many different types of beings. While this book started out a little rough and Loren really grated on me, as the book progressed it hooked me and I could not put it down. It was one event after another with a lot of world building. By the end Loren’s character went through a lot of development and growth, and while she still has flaws I enjoy her more. Darien is dark and brooding with a tortured past, and the perfect book boyfriend. I don’t always annotate and tab books when I read, but I chose to tab for different items in this book and I’m so glad I did - I really enjoyed that process. Starting book 2 asap!
