Bowling League 2025-2026 🎳

The 2025-2026 Bowling League season has come to an end. 🎳

I’m pretty proud of my overall improvement through this season. I met 2 of the 3 goals I set for myself:

Bowl a clean game ✅

Bowl a 600 series ✅

Bowl a 250 game ➡️ (not yet- high game was a 235)

I was pleasantly surprised to receive the Women’s Most Improved Award again. I previously received this for the 2023-2024 season.

We bowled a 9-pin no-type for our banquet. It was a lot of fun.

Looking back at my previous season’s scores, all the way back to my first season (2022-2023), it’s eye opening to see just how far I’ve come in less than 4 years. I think that’s something to be pretty proud of! And now to think about goals for the 2026-2027 season…

... Read moreIt's so inspiring to look back at a bowling season and see all the progress you've made, just like I did after my 2025-2026 league wrapped up! If you're looking to 'bolden' your own bowling league game, whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, here are some tips that have genuinely helped me become a Women's Most Improved award winner (twice!). First off, setting clear, achievable goals is a game-changer. Don't just say "I want to get better." Be specific! For example, I aimed to bowl a clean game and a 600 series this past season, and hitting those felt incredible. Maybe your goal is to increase your average by 10 pins, or consistently hit your mark. Track your scores, like those detailed recaps from the Mixed Orthodox Bowling League showing my averages from 2023 to 2026. Seeing that progress, especially comparing earlier seasons, is a huge motivator. It truly opens your eyes to how far you've come. Practice, practice, practice! League nights are great, but a little extra practice can make a huge difference. Focus on one aspect of your game at a time – maybe your approach, your release, or your spare shooting. There are tons of drills online, or even just spending an hour working on those tricky 10-pins can 'bolden' your confidence. I've found focusing on specific techniques at Park Centre Lanes outside of league night really helped me fine-tune my game. Don't underestimate the mental game either. Bowling can be so much about staying focused and positive. Everyone has bad frames or even bad games. The key is to shake it off and focus on the next shot. Learning to stay calm under pressure, especially when you're close to hitting a personal best, is a skill in itself. I'm still working on my 250 game, but staying positive even after a 235 definitely keeps me going. Finally, embrace the league community! The camaraderie in a league is amazing. You learn so much from watching others, and their encouragement can really boost your spirits. Whether it's a casual league or a more competitive one, like the Mixed Orthodox Bowling League, the shared experience makes it so much more fun. Celebrating small victories, like a tough spare conversion, with your teammates is priceless. Building those connections not only makes league night more enjoyable but can also open doors to getting tips and advice from more experienced bowlers. Comparing my scores from previous seasons, all the way back to my first in 2022-2023, is a powerful reminder that consistent effort truly pays off. If I can go from my starting point to winning awards and hitting major goals, anyone can. So, if you're thinking about joining a league or want to take your current league game to the next level, set those goals, put in the practice, and most importantly, have fun with it!
