Switching from cotton pillowcases to satin pillowcases or using a satin bonnet made a huge difference. Cotton causes friction that leads to breakage and slow growth, while satin reduces friction and helps maintain moisture. Another mistake I corrected was reducing heat styling. Excessive heat weakens hair strands, leading to breakage and thinning. Instead, I embraced heat-free styles or used a heat protectant whenever I styled with heat. Consistency with moisturizing was also key—dry hair tends to break easily. Incorporating regular deep conditioning and hydrating products helped keep my curls soft, bouncy, and growing. I also learned to avoid tight hairstyles and harsh products containing sulfates and alcohol, which strip natural oils and weaken hair. Choosing gentle, nourishing products that suit my hair type preserved its health and vitality. Above all, patience and consistency are essential. Hair growth is a gradual process that responds to healthy habits over time. By stopping destructive behaviors and adopting a routine focused on moisture, protection, and gentle care, I saw noticeable improvements in my hair’s strength and length. These practical changes transformed my hair journey and can help anyone committed to healthier hair growth.

I'm starting to understand my hair better by not using too many products out there that claim to be great for the hair and not allowing everyone's hands in my hair.

Gotta trial and error the “right” products cause sometimes I be going and it’s good then BAM, my hair ain’t feeling it no more like what the heck!
