Valentine's Day is often seen as a time to celebrate romantic love, but it can also be an opportunity for us to reflect on deeper, more spiritual expressions of love. For many, including myself, recognizing Jesus as my Valentine brings a profound sense of peace and joy that lasts beyond a single day. This perspective transforms Valentine’s Day from just exchanging gifts or going out to dinner to a heartfelt celebration of the unconditional love that Jesus represents. In my experience, starting the day with prayer or reading scripture about love can set an intentional tone. Meditating on verses such as 1 Corinthians 13, which beautifully describes love’s enduring qualities, helps me appreciate the pure, selfless love we are called to embody and receive. Embracing this spiritual love doesn’t diminish the joy of romantic relationships; rather, it enriches them by centering love’s highest example. Sharing this message has also opened up meaningful conversations with friends and family, allowing us to connect on a deeper level about faith and love. It reminds me that while Valentine’s Day may come and go, the love and grace we experience through Jesus remain constant. This approach encourages us to not only celebrate love but to live it daily with compassion, kindness, and commitment. Whether single or in a relationship, viewing Jesus as the ultimate Valentine offers a heartfelt way to honor love’s true meaning on Valentine’s Day and beyond.
