I’m So Ready For Spring! 😃🌸🌺🌻🌷🌼
Who else is tired of the cold? 🥶~ I live in the Pacific Northwest and not only is it freezing cold during these winter months, but we also get a lot of snow and cold rain as well.
I noticed that all my drawings and paintings have been nothing but flowers lately. 😂 I can tell that I am so over this winter season. Even my family noticed that I’ve been drawing and painting a lot of flowers. 😂
Painting and drawing flowers has a healing effect on me. It can reduce negative emotion, blood pressure and cortisol release. I always have fresh flowers in my home which always makes a place feel cozy and at peace. I love that I can immortalize flowers in my drawings and paintings so I can have an endless spring or summer. 🤗💛🌼🌸🌷🪻

Oh, tell me I'm not the only one counting down the days until spring! The endless grey skies and biting cold here in the Pacific Northwest really get to you after a while. I’ve found my own special way to combat those winter blues and manifest brighter days: diving into the world of flower art. It's more than just a hobby; it's become a genuine source of comfort and joy, a little secret garden I carry with me. There's something incredibly meditative about sketching a delicate petal or blending vibrant colors for a bloom. When I sit down with my art supplies, the world outside fades away, and I'm transported. Focusing on the intricate details of a stylized flower drawing or the swirling patterns of an abstract flower line art piece helps quiet my mind. It's not just about reducing stress; it's about actively creating beauty and warmth when the natural world feels so stark. I've noticed how my mood lifts, almost like sunshine breaking through the clouds, when I'm immersed in a new flower painting. It truly has a healing effect, almost like a natural therapy session. If you're feeling the same ache for spring, you don't need to be a professional artist to try this. Grab some paper and a pencil, or even a basic watercolor set. Start by looking at photos of your favorite flowers or even real ones if you have them. Don't worry about perfection; the goal is the process, the act of creation. You can experiment with different styles – maybe a bold acrylic painting of poppies, or a serene mixed media artwork combining textures and colors. I often start with a simple outline and then build up layers, letting the colors guide me. The joy comes from seeing a blank page transform into something beautiful, something that reminds you of warmer, sunnier days. Beyond just painting, there are other little ways I bring spring's spirit indoors to keep that 'I'm so ready for spring!' feeling alive. Fresh flowers are a must for me – a splash of color and a lovely scent can truly transform a space. But it's also about infusing my home with other sensory cues. Think about spring-themed essential oils, cheerful textiles, or even a playlist of uplifting music. These small acts collectively create an environment that nurtates hope and anticipation for the season to come. My art, however, is the most powerful tool because it's a tangible piece of that endless spring I crave, a constant reminder that beauty and warmth are just around the corner, or in my case, on my canvas. It’s a wonderful way to bridge the gap between the frosty reality and the vibrant dreams of spring.
