Do you like to draw or paint on black paper? ~ I absolutely love to draw and paint on black paper. I love how the contrast makes your drawings and paintings pop. 😃👏🏼Black paper gives us nice rich blacks so that when we apply lighter values to it, the values contrast against each other. If we were working on white paper, we would have to add lots of dark material in order to create the same type of contrast or pop.

Another advantage of working on black paper is that we get nice rich shadows and working on black paper gives the perception of brighter colors. Also white pencil is absolutely the best choice of colour when you start drawing on black paper. It provides the greatest contrast, and the pencil is ideal for controlling how heavy you apply it. I love how my designs just pop off the page! 😍

If you haven’t drawn or painted on black paper you should try it. I can’t wait to see what you create! 😃👏🏼💛🤗
