We put down my new office flooring!
We just finished installing my new LVP flooring In my newly renovated office and laundry room. I bought this fixer in June 2021. One of my sons and I demo’d the house down to the studs.
We finished the kitchen in the first half of 2024. But we still need to finish my new pantry.
It’s taken so long because we live in the house and do it ourselves. The first thing we did was turn our 750 square foot garage into a studio so we had a place to sleep without the dust, etc.
Our entire dining room had to be completely restructured due to the rotten subflooring and roof leaks.
So many issues you find as you break open walls! But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now!

Installing new flooring can dramatically enhance a space. Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring is a popular choice among homeowners for renovations due to its durability and aesthetic appeal. It's great for high-traffic areas or spaces like offices and laundry rooms. When you decide to go DIY, it’s essential to consider the steps involved: from prepping the subfloor to acclimating your flooring materials, each step plays a critical role in the successful completion of your project. When undergoing renovations, be prepared for surprises such as unexpected structural issues, like rotten subflooring or water damage. These can delay progress but allow for deeper insights into your home's infrastructure. It's advisable to have a plan for living through construction, like setting up temporary living spaces in other parts of your home to avoid disruption. Keeping motivation high during renovation projects can be challenging; sharing your progress on social media or with friends can provide accountability and encouragement. As you take on projects such as these, make sure to document every stage, whether it’s installing flooring, restructuring rooms, or even little victories along the way. Communities online, including forums dedicated to remodeling, can also provide support and ideas, making the journey rewarding and less isolating.
