I used to chase love… #chasinglove #needforapproval #selfabandonment

7/29 Edited to

... Read moreI used to believe that chasing approval and constantly seeking validation were the only ways to feel loved and worthy. It took me a while to realize I was confusing attention with genuine love. This often led me to overgive and overcompensate, sacrificing my own needs and boundaries just to be liked or possibly loved. Through this journey, I learned that true love doesn't require shrinking yourself or performing to earn it. Real love meets you where you are, offering peace rather than demanding constant effort for approval. When I stopped chasing love, I noticed a profound shift—not only did I start choosing myself, but love began finding me naturally. This experience taught me the importance of self-love and setting healthy boundaries. It’s crucial to recognize when we’re abandoning ourselves for others’ acceptance. Authentic connections come from being genuine and embracing who you truly are. If you’re caught in the cycle of needing approval, remember it’s okay to pause and refocus on yourself; the right people and the right kind of love will follow. For anyone struggling with self-abandonment or the need for approval, reminders like these can be transformative. Love should feel peaceful, not performative or conditional. Your worth isn’t tied to how much you give to others or how much they validate you. Instead, it’s about accepting and valuing yourself first—only then does love in its purest form begin to flow into your life.

The Hardest Truth I Had to Swallow About Love
I used to think love meant proving myself. That if I just showed up enough, poured enough, held on tight enough… they would finally see me. Finally choose me. But let me tell you something—some people don’t love you. They love what you do for them. And that truth? It nearly broke me. I

Inner peace and self growth shape your life 🦋💗✨
The shift may look quiet but it is rewriting everything. Each time you choose healing over holding it all in, self love over self abandonment, you are not just surviving you are becoming. You are returning to the woman you were always meant to be…whole, worthy, and wildly in love with herself.
