🍁 Recreating Pinterest outfits is always so fun and makes you think out of the box to come up with outfits you might not think of otherwise! I picked a few pins from my favorite outfits board which I thought I could recreate.
🍂 I layered a ruffled white shirt quite a bit, used plenty of plaid, brown boots and vests. I had to change up the color scheme in a few and make some minor changes to accommodate pieces I actually had in my wardrobe but I think they turned out decent. I hope to make more of these in the future. Let me know your thoughts! 🥰
... Read moreIt's so easy to get lost in the endless scroll of gorgeous fall outfits on Pinterest, right? We see these perfectly curated looks and think, 'I wish I could put that together!' The good news is, you absolutely can achieve that dreamy 'Pinterest aesthetic' without buying a whole new wardrobe. My recent challenge to recreate some of my favorite pins really taught me a few tricks, and I want to share them with you to help you elevate your own fall style game.
First, let's talk about the vibe of a Pinterest fall outfit. It's often about cozy textures, earthy color palettes, and smart layering. Think chunky knits paired with sleek denim, or a flowy dress under a structured blazer. The key isn't always finding the exact same item, but understanding the elements that make the outfit work. For instance, if a pin features a camel-colored trench coat, and you have a similar colored long cardigan, try styling that instead! It's all about creative substitution and embracing the 'remix' idea I saw on some images – using what you have in new ways.
One of my biggest takeaways was the power of basic pieces. A good quality white or cream long-sleeve top, a classic pair of jeans, and versatile boots are your best friends. From there, you can add layers like plaid shirts, sweater vests, or scarves to instantly transform a simple base into something Pinterest-worthy. I found that even changing the way I tied a scarf or rolled up sleeves made a huge difference in achieving that effortless, styled look. Don't underestimate the impact of accessories too! A chic bag, a statement belt, or even delicate gold jewelry can pull an entire outfit together.
Another tip for nailing the 'aesthetic' is to pay attention to proportions. Pinterest outfits often play with oversized pieces mixed with more fitted items to create visual interest. For example, a baggy sweater with skinny jeans, or a cropped top with wide-leg trousers. Experiment with tucking in shirts, belting oversized cardigans, or layering different lengths to find what flatters your silhouette and matches the inspiration.
Finally, don't be afraid to add your own personal twist. Pinterest is a starting point, not a strict rulebook. If you love a certain color that isn't traditionally 'fall,' find a way to incorporate it subtly. The most authentic and stylish outfits are often those that reflect your personality. So, go ahead, grab your favorite fall tea, open up Pinterest, and start envisioning how you can 'remix' those beautiful looks with the treasures already in your closet!
