Easy & Delicious Pickled Onions 🧅

I don’t know about you- but I Looooveeee me some pickled onions!!! They are like candy to me. 😂

Crunchy. Tangy. Slightly unhinged in the best way. Pickled onions are the chaotic good of the condiment world. They show up uninvited and somehow make everything better… tacos, sandwiches, salads, eggs, your fork at 2 a.m. straight from the jar (no judgment). One of my favorite ways is making a turkey smash burger salad and putting them in it! Basically like a turkey burger without the bunnnn. 😆😆

They’re bold. They’re pink. They refuse to be subtle. 😝. One bite and suddenly your boring meal has personality and a little sass. Honestly, if food had main characters, pickled onions would absolutely steal the scene and wink at the camera.

If you don’t like pickled onions yet, that’s okay. Growth is a journey. 💅

... Read morePickled onions are such a versatile and vibrant condiment that can really elevate your everyday meals. From my experience, using apple cider vinegar in the brine adds a slightly fruity and tangy note that complements the sharpness of the onions beautifully. You can also experiment with adding a few peppercorns or a bay leaf during the boiling step for an extra layer of flavor. One tip I’ve found helpful is letting the onions rest at room temperature for a couple of hours before refrigerating them. This resting period helps the onions absorb the brine better, making them more flavorful and crunchy. After chilling, they’re perfect to use on everything from homemade burgers and tacos to grain bowls or even as a tangy topping for deviled eggs. If you want to make a batch last longer or enjoy thicker slices, consider slicing the onions a bit thicker or using a sterilized jar to keep them fresh. Pickled onions also pair wonderfully with richer dishes—they cut through fatty flavors and add a refreshing bite. Personally, I love grabbing a jar straight from the fridge for that sharp, zingy snack that livens up late-night cravings. This recipe is simple, quick, and a fun way to add some sass and color to your meals. Give it a try and watch how they transform your food from ordinary to extraordinary!
