... Read moreReading 'Dear Debbie' by Freida McFadden was an intense and captivating experience for me. The way the author combines the seemingly mundane world of an advice columnist with the suspense and action of a vigilante thriller kept me hooked from start to finish. What struck me most was how relatable the protagonist felt — she starts off dealing with everyday problems, like a complicated marriage and her daughter's troubles, but soon finds herself wrapped in mysteries that reveal deeper secrets. The pacing was perfect, making it easy to follow yet unpredictable enough with frequent plot twists that genuinely surprised me. The aspect of emails and letters that 'should never leave the drafts file' really adds to the tension and drama in the story. It got me thinking about how often private thoughts or messages can hold powerful information that changes relationships and life outcomes if discovered. This theme creatively feeds into the vigilante angle, as the protagonist uses her insight and unexpected courage to tackle the chaos around her. As a fan of thrillers with strong, complex female leads, I found the character development in this book superb. It’s refreshing to read about a protagonist who is smart, flawed, and determined to fight for justice in her own unconventional way. The emotional depth combined with the suspenseful plot made 'Dear Debbie' memorable and definitely worth recommending to fellow book lovers who enjoy suspense, secrets, and strong women in fiction. If you enjoy quick reads that keep you guessing, Freida McFadden’s work is an excellent pick. 'Dear Debbie' not only entertained me but also made me reflect on the hidden roles advice columnists can play in people's lives—and how far someone might go when pushed to their limits. This book is a perfect addition to any thriller book club discussion or your personal reading list.
