Small creators: 3 UGC brands you can work with! 💡

These current brands are super popular on social media right now and guess what??

They want to collab with you! 😱

• DAE: (no social requirements, this was gifted with no strings attached)

*i reached out via instagram DM, was sent some PR*

I received their signature shampoo/conditioner and some swag merch! The turnaround time took about 2 weeks to receive my package.

• GOOD MOLECULES: (no social requirements, this was gifted with no strings attached)

*i reached via instagram DM, was directed over to their email and was sent some PR*

I received their signature skincare lineup: cleanser, toner, niacinamide serum, eye cream. I emailed them in March and received a reply in May. (definitely took longer than usual) The turnaround time took about 1 or 2 months to receive my package.

• PROVENCE BEAUTY: (no social requirements, this was gifted with no strings attached) (summer ambassadorship does require 2 instagram reels a month with approval)

*i interact with the so much on instagram!*

I always tag them and interact with them on instagram, slowly building a relationship. I emailed them and received a reply the next day asking for my home address details, I received my package a week later. A month ago they posted an open application for their summer ambassadorship, I applied and was accepted a few weeks later! I’m now in their summer program called “Gen PB” and recently received a huge PR haul! It contained their entire brand lineup: skincare items, lip oils, lip treatment, and an unreleased product WITH a lab sample size of it to promote!

Here’s the template I use when reaching out to brands:

“Hi!!

I hope you all are doing well☺️ I am reaching out to you to explore an opportunity to test a few of your products and share a dedicated reel/post with these products as a way to promote your brand/products.

Please let me know if that's something you'd be interested in discussing further.

I really love your brand and would love to get the opportunity to work with you!

Thanks,

Irma Vazquez”

This is just to name a few! Despite what others may say, accepting gifted collabs will definitely open doors for you to possibly work with your favorite brand in the future.

... Read moreFinding those first brand collaborations as a small UGC creator can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, right? I totally get it! While I shared some amazing brands that have worked for me (like DAE, Good Molecules, and Provence Beauty!), the good news is there are so many more out there eager to partner with authentic voices like ours, even with a small following. You might see images of popular products like the Mirage Mist Leave-In or various skincare items, and think, 'How do I get *that*?' It's all about strategy! First, really hone in on your niche. Are you passionate about skincare, sustainable fashion, home decor, or even pet products? Brands are looking for creators who genuinely love their products. For instance, if you're into skincare, focus on brands known for their great ingredients, whether they're vegan or cruelty-free. If you love body wash, look for brands that emphasize natural ingredients or unique scents. Don't limit yourself to just beauty; think about innovative products in smart home tech or even gourmet snacks! My experience with Provence Beauty showed me the power of genuine interaction. Don't just slide into DMs (though INSTA DM can work, as it did for me with Dae and Good Molecules!). Engage with brands you love on their posts, comment thoughtfully, share their content, and tag them in your own. Let them see your enthusiasm and creative potential before you even reach out for a collaboration. This often leads to them noticing you first, or making your cold outreach much warmer. Many brands, especially those looking for continuous UGC, have dedicated ambassador programs or creator networks. Keep an eye on their websites or their 'link in bio' on social media for applications. Sometimes these programs are seasonal, like Provence Beauty's summer ambassadorship, so timing can be key. These are often easier entry points than cold outreach, as they're actively seeking creators. Don't overlook smaller or emerging brands! They often have smaller marketing budgets but a huge need for authentic user-generated content. They might be more willing to send gifted PR in exchange for content, helping you build your portfolio. These brands are often looking for creators who align with their values (e.g., vegan, cruelty-free, sustainable). Look for products that are innovative or solve a specific problem – those are great for generating engaging UGC. While a template is a fantastic starting point (and I've shared mine!), always personalize it. Mention specific products you genuinely love, explain why you think your audience would connect with their brand, and offer clear value. Instead of just asking for free products, tell them how you plan to showcase them. Will you create a reel, a detailed review, or a creative photo series? Be specific about your content ideas. Consistency is key! Building a portfolio of UGC and landing collaborations is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep creating, keep engaging, and keep reaching out. Every 'no' gets you closer to a 'yes.' Remember, even a small account with under 10k followers can offer immense value through authentic, high-quality content. You've got this!
