... Read moreBased on my journey toward becoming an Amex Girly, I can attest that preparation is key—not just chasing after the card but cultivating a mindset and financial habits that align with wealth and responsibility. One important aspect I learned is that discipline in paying bills on time and keeping credit utilization low really sets the foundation for approval and ongoing card benefits. When I started, I focused heavily on understanding which American Express card aligned best with my lifestyle and goals, whether that was the Green for everyday use, the Gold for enhanced rewards, or the Platinum with premium perks. Checking pre-approval offers without affecting my credit helped me gauge my readiness before applying officially, which I found very reassuring. Maximizing rewards became a game-changer. Learning the points system allowed me to use points smartly for flights, hotel upgrades, and exclusive experiences that made the card more than just a payment tool—it elevated my lifestyle. Also, tapping into additional perks like lounge access and purchase protection enhanced everyday purchases and travel. One tip I'd highly recommend is to treat the card as part of a broader financial growth strategy. I continuously requested credit limit increases when financially justified, which improved my purchasing power and credit score. Referring friends was an added bonus that multiplied benefits. Lastly, it’s about consistency. Maintaining good habits around spending, paying in full every month, and keeping expenses planned ensured that the card remained a privilege and a tool for long-term financial health. Becoming an Amex Girly truly transformed my view of credit and wealth—it's about preparation, steady growth, and embracing a lifestyle with intention.

How ironic I just received a pre approval for an Amex in the mail today. I usually toss that as junk mail. But today I set it aside so now I am like hmmm… I would like to switch my two other cards off and just have one. I am going to read the information this time. I have zero debt. I pay my charges in full every month

Use. It. Smartly...unlike me😂. We had a time in Paris and London and San Francisco and Napa Valley🙃🤦🏾‍♀️. I have the gold and when I paying it off, I'll apply for the platinum (which has an astounding $895 annual fee😒🤬🤬🤬)
