Everything I CrochetedThis Week

This week has been busy for me crocheting! Thankfully, I have 4 craft shows coming up that I’ve been prepping for so I’ve got a lot to get done.

I have been recovering from back surgery so I’ve been off of work and had nothing but time to crochet! This week I completed:

• 22 snowmen

• 17 Christmas tree cakes

• 4 brown owls

• 2 snowy owls

• 7 squids

• 25 pocket octos

I can’t wait to see what I get done next week as well. If these are posts you like, let me know down below and I can make them more!

Pattern info:

• Snowmen: Knots Merry Yarn

• Christmas tree cakes: Momsstichetti

• Owls: crochetbygenna

• Squids: plushico

• Pocket octos: pattern from Etsy but I can’t find the listing and it doesn’t say who made it

... Read moreThis week’s crocheting journey has been incredibly fruitful, especially as I recover from back surgery and have plenty of time to focus on my craft. Preparing for four upcoming craft shows has motivated me to create a diverse collection of handmade items ranging from festive snowmen to whimsical pocket octos. Each piece showcases a blend of creativity and dedication, with patterns sourced from talented designers across the crochet community. The snowmen and Christmas tree cakes are perfect for holiday decorations or gifts, crafted from detailed patterns by Knots Merry Yarn and Momsstichetti, respectively. Their festive charm brings warmth to any home setting. The brown and snowy owls, inspired by crochetbygenna's patterns, add a cozy woodland touch, highlighting intricate stitch work and personality in amigurumi form. In addition, the squids created from plushico's design introduce a quirky marine element, while the pocket octos—though from an Etsy pattern without a listed creator—remain uniquely adorable and highly popular among crafters for their versatility and charm. This assortment not only shows the joy of crocheting a wide variety of creatures and decorations but also the importance of supporting fellow crochet pattern designers. Engaging with these patterns challenges skills and keeps the craft exciting. For anyone looking to embark on a similar journey, focusing on small, detailed projects like these enhances dexterity and creativity. If you’re new to crochet or considering participating in craft shows, it’s helpful to plan projects based on seasons or upcoming holidays, just as I did. Preparing in advance means you can balance your creative time with other life commitments, such as recovery or work. Crocheting offers therapeutic benefits, too—especially during recovery—as the repetitive motions and focus can be calming and rewarding. Sharing your progress on platforms with communities of like-minded creators encourages connection and inspiration. Stay tuned for next week’s updates and feel free to share which projects inspire you the most!
