Crochet Cactus Pillows
The last couple days, I’ve been trying out a new pattern I got. I signed up for a vendor event in May that is plant theme as there is a plant exchange there as well! As part of that event, a few of your products need to be “planty” theme! 🌵
When I saw this pattern on Etsy, I knew I had to get it and make a few of these pillows for the event! I’m thinking I’ll only bring a few with me as they’re a larger item than most that I sell!
What do you think?! Stay tuned on more items I make for this show and others this year!

Crochet cactus pillows are a delightful way to add a touch of greenery to your home décor without worrying about watering or sunlight. When I first started making these pillows, I was drawn to the versatility of the cactus design—its quirky, charming look fits both modern and boho styles. One thing I’ve learned while working on these larger crochet pillows is the importance of using the right yarn and hook size to achieve the perfect texture and firmness. Using a slightly thicker, sturdy yarn like cotton or a cotton blend helps the pillow hold its shape better than softer yarns. Also, stuffing the pillow firmly but evenly makes a big difference in how it maintains its cactus silhouette. If you’re planning to sell these at vendor events, keep in mind the space they occupy and how you can display them attractively. Since these pillows are larger than typical crochet accessories, consider creating a themed display with other plant-inspired items or using natural elements like wooden crates or greenery to catch customers’ eyes. I found the pattern from Knots Merry Yarn on Etsy to be straightforward and enjoyable to work through. It’s great for beginners looking to expand their skills or experienced crocheters who want a quick project with a fun twist. Plus, the finished pillows make excellent conversation pieces or gifts for plant lovers. For anyone interested in taking their crochet hobby further, these cactus pillows can also be customized with added details like embroidered flowers or different colors to suit various tastes. Don’t be afraid to experiment with stitches or sizes to make each pillow uniquely yours. Lastly, since this project ties in well with plant exchanges or garden-themed markets, it’s an ideal opportunity to network with fellow craft enthusiasts and get inspired by others’ plant-related creations. Overall, crafting crochet cactus pillows has been a rewarding experience that combines creativity, practicality, and a love for nature—all while offering a product that’s both adorable and functional.
