CLOUD &TIFA WIP

Working on watercolor fanart of Cloud and Tifa has been an exciting journey that really deepens my appreciation for Final Fantasy 7. Watercolor is a challenging medium, especially when trying to portray the distinct personalities and dynamic poses of these characters. I start with light pencil sketches to map out the composition and their expressions before bringing in soft washes of color. Layering is crucial with watercolor to achieve depth without losing the softness essential to the characters’ appearance. One technique I've found particularly useful is using lifting methods, where I gently remove some pigment with a damp brush to create highlights and natural lighting effects around Cloud's hair and Tifa’s outfit. It adds an almost glowing effect that brings the painting to life. Fanart communities are also a great resource for inspiration and constructive feedback. Seeing how others interpret Cloud and Tifa in watercolor helps me refine my technique and grasp different artistic perspectives. Overall, bringing these characters from the digital fantasy world into a physical watercolor medium adds a personal touch that digital art sometimes lacks. The process demands patience and adaptability, but the results are deeply rewarding for both artist and fans alike.
