Getting out of my comfort zone! ✨
Sometimes I feel as though my autism makes me hyperaware of not only every move I make but also how I look in photos. I tend to hyper analyze, to make sure that I don’t look weird, or cringey. I’m starting to learn that I’ve become my own bully. It’s hard to embrace the parts of me that I’m scared of, or the parts that made me “different”growing up. I want to expose myself, I want to be able to take up space without feeling like a burden. So I hope you enjoy this post! 🫶💕
Navigating the complexities of self-image as someone on the autism spectrum can be challenging. Many individuals grapple with hyperawareness, feeling as though every movement and appearance is under scrutiny. It’s important to recognize that these feelings are valid and shared by others. Embracing who you are involves confronting those inner critics and the fears tied to vulnerability. In this journey of self-acceptance, remember that every unique trait contributes to your identity. Taking risks, like sharing your images or stories, can lead to greater confidence and connection in the community. Engaging with supportive hashtags such as #audhd, #embracevulnerability, and #queer encourages dialogue and understanding. By stepping out of your comfort zone, you not only inspire yourself but also others who might be experiencing similar feelings. Celebrate those unique aspects that make you different; you are not a burden, but rather someone with a unique perspective worth sharing. Learn to love your authentic self, and in turn, invite others to do the same.
