*(20 mins away from highlands by Grab + Cable Car)

Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

3 main reasons for choosing this hotel:

🚗Grab is available in this area!

🍜 Food options were easily available just minutes away and cheaper!

💰 It was 3x cheaper than a similar room at Genting Highlands

🛌Family Room (~$150/night, direct website flash sale price)

👍🏻 Room was very spacious! 1x King Bed + 1 Queen Mattress for the loft. *Additional bed/ cot can be added for a fee.

👍🏻 Long console below the tv which doubled up as a luggage rack and a placeholder for our day bags (so that things are not all over the place)

👍🏻 Very good water pressure and heater

👍🏻 Complimentary toiletries, coffee, tea and 4 bottles of mineral water

👍🏻 Complimentary self service small bites and drink (flavour is different everyday) opposite the reception

👍🏻 Staff will WhatsApp you when the room is ready

Some of the cons:

😅 Additional 20 minutes commute to Genting Highlands via Grab + Cable Car

😅 Lesser vibe than the highlands

😅 Limited hangers!

Found this great room configuration in the Genting Permai area when we realised that the Genting Highland rooms were completely sold out due to the consecutive holidays.

It wasn’t difficult trying to get a grab to and fro Awana Skyway Cable Car Station/ Genting Premium Outlets which allowed us to settle breakfast and dinner at the Genting Permai area. The nearby Gohtong Jaya area is also filled with plenty of food options!

Another protip: get the cable car tickets for Senior Citizens (prepare passport/ identification) at the counter and opt for express as it is much cheaper and saves you time queueing for the standard lane.

Enjoy! ✨

... Read moreWhen traveling with family or a small group, finding spacious and budget-friendly accommodation can be challenging, especially in popular tourist areas like Genting Highlands. From my personal experience staying at GEO Resort & Hotel in Genting Permai, I found their triple and quadruple sharing family rooms to be a perfect solution. The rooms are thoughtfully designed with a king-sized mattress on the main floor and a queen-sized bunk bed upstairs, allowing everyone to have comfortable sleeping arrangements. The option to add additional cots or beds provides flexibility for larger groups. One highlight of my stay was the well-appointed bathroom featuring a standing rain shower with a convenient wall-mounted bench and ample towels and bath amenities, adding a touch of comfort. The complimentary beverages station opposite the reception with daily changing flavors was a nice surprise and made the stay feel more welcoming. Getting around was also easy since Grab services operate reliably in the Genting Permai area. This availability made trips to the Awana Skyway Cable Car Station and Genting Premium Outlets hassle-free. For food lovers, nearby Gohtong Jaya offers a variety of affordable dining options, which is great for families looking to save on meals without compromising on taste. An important tip especially for travelers with senior citizens is to purchase senior citizen cable car tickets at the counter with proper identification. Choosing the express lane not only is cheaper but also significantly reduces waiting time, allowing more time to enjoy the attractions. While the commute to the main Genting Highlands area adds about 20 minutes, many guests like myself appreciate the quieter vibe and better rates at Genting Permai. The room’s modern amenities, including a long console below the TV which doubles as luggage storage, very good water pressure with heater, and generous toiletries and mineral water bottles, contribute positively to overall comfort. Ultimately, based on my stay, GEO Resort & Hotel at Genting Permai is a great alternative for families or groups looking for spacious rooms, convenience, and budget-conscious choices close to Genting Highlands. If you plan a visit during busy holiday periods and find Highland rooms sold out or too expensive, definitely consider this option for a pleasant and memorable getaway experience.
