Found this great room configuration in the Genting Permai area when we realised that the Genting Highland rooms were completely sold out due to the consecutive holidays.
It wasn’t difficult trying to get a grab to and fro Awana Skyway Cable Car Station/ Genting Premium Outlets which allowed us to settle breakfast and dinner at the Genting Permai area. The nearby Gohtong Jaya area is also filled with plenty of food options!
Another protip: get the cable car tickets for Senior Citizens (prepare passport/ identification) at the counter and opt for express as it is much cheaper and saves you time queueing for the standard lane.

Ultimately, based on my stay, GEO Resort & Hotel at Genting Permai is a great alternative for families or groups looking for spacious rooms, convenience, and budget-conscious choices close to Genting Highlands. If you plan a visit during busy holiday periods and find Highland rooms sold out or too expensive, definitely consider this option for a pleasant and memorable getaway experience.
