The resort has so much wasted potential😐

🥲 The drive in is not for the faint hearted. Almost 10km (20-30mins drive) of winding roads before you reach the resort.

🥲 Interiors are very dated

🥲 Facilities and exterior facade (including Colmar Tropicale) looks tired

🥲 Can’t open the windows due to an increase in wild monkeys 🐵🐒

The service rendered by the staff were great! The chief concierge reacted super quickly when we first arrived and the suitcases followed along shortly after I got my room keys. Front office also helped swiftly when I requested for an additional bed and advised that it came with breakfast (yay!)💯 The f&b staff were all friendly and the chef whipped out the omelette for me real nice! 🍳 The buffet food (especially the piping hot beehoon) were also amazing. 🥞The pool area and resort surroundings were really gorgeous (just swipe for the sunset picture)! 😍

But I felt really sad that there is so much wasted potential on this place. Hear me out:

I had booked Chateau as it was the only place on Berjaya Hills that could fit the family at that time. I was a little surprised at the interiors and surrounding facilities because I had expected a lot more from the place. The bathroom was slippery so do request for more floor towels and the heater does take a while to come on. Some of the facilities also felt very lacklustre and dated.

The nearby Colmar Tropicale and Japanese Village were also rather tired looking that would be nice with some repainting. The spa in the Japanese Village is under renovation (?) There seem to be more activities within the hills but I wasn’t aware except for the morning yoga at the resort.

Overall, the resort is still a nice place to unwind, relax and soak in the nature at the off peak price point and it would be a nice place for large group yoga and wellness retreats as it is really far from civilisation.

Will I return again? Maybe next time when I just need a quick getaway.
