Jollity Dayton, Ohio!
Oh my goodness, fellow foodies, I just had to share my recent, bittersweet experience at Jollity in Dayton, Ohio! If you haven't been, you absolutely need to make a reservation ASAP because, according to what I heard and saw on the menu, they're closing their doors on August 30th! This makes my recent visit even more special, and I wanted to give you all a peek at why this place is a true gem. First things first, let's talk about the buzz-worthy Koji Burger. I saw it mentioned as "KOJI BE AVAILABLE IN THE BURGER FORM MOVING FORWARD" and it's absolutely legendary. Imagine that rich, umami flavor of koji-aged ribeye, perfectly cooked in a burger – it’s a game-changer. It came with those addictive Gunpowder Frites and a Chipotle Aioli that just elevated every bite. Truly, if you go for nothing else, try this burger. It’s what many people search for, and it lives up to the hype. But Jollity is so much more than just one amazing burger. Their menu is incredibly innovative. For appetizers, the Mochi Corn Fritters were a delightful surprise, and the Miso Corncake with whipped brie and cherry compote was an absolute dream, a perfect balance of sweet and savory. I also tried the Grilled Octopus with Vietnamese Chile Sauce – tender and bursting with flavor. For main courses, my dining companion went with the Pan Seared Tilefish, which was cooked to perfection, flaky and delicate. I, on the other hand, couldn't resist the allure of the Char Siu Hen served with a refreshing watermelon gazpacho and grilled halloumi cheese – an unexpected but brilliant combination. The menu always felt fresh and seasonal, with dishes like Grilled Summer Vegetables and that amazing local greens salad I enjoyed. Walking into Jollity, you immediately get a sense of its unique charm. It’s not just about the food; it’s the whole experience. From the moment you step in, you know you're in for something special. The photos I snagged barely do justice to the artful presentation of each dish. It's truly sad to see such an incredible restaurant go, but it also means this is your last chance to savor these unique culinary creations. Don't miss out on what makes Jollity a highlight in Dayton's dining scene. Make that reservation, try the Koji Burger, explore the rest of their inventive menu, and create some last delicious memories before August 30th!
