Halloween costume this year <3
OMG, you guys, I'm still buzzing from how much fun I had putting together my Raven from Teen Titans look for Halloween! Seriously, getting that perfect mystical vibe was a journey, but totally worth it. I wanted to share some of my go-to tips for anyone else wanting to channel their inner Raven. First up, that signature pale face makeup. This is key! I started with a really full-coverage, light-toned foundation, almost a shade lighter than my natural skin. Then, I used a white setting powder all over to really lock in that ethereal, slightly ghostly pallor Raven has. Don't forget to blend down your neck so you don't have a harsh line! Next, the dramatic dark eye makeup. This was probably my favorite part! I used a matte black eyeshadow as a base, building it up to create that sharp, winged look she's famous for. A really good liquid eyeliner is your best friend here for precision. I extended the wing quite a bit, making it super bold. For added depth, I blended a deep purple eyeshadow into the crease – it helps give it that magical, moody feel without being too bright. And of course, a few coats of volumizing mascara or even some dramatic false lashes will complete the look. And let's not forget the dark red lipstick! I went for a matte, deep berry red. It’s not just red; it has to have that slightly vampy, mysterious tone. Lining your lips first with a matching pencil helps keep everything neat and makes the color pop even more. Now, for the absolute essential: the small red gem on the forehead. I found a flat-backed acrylic gem online, super affordable. To attach it, I used spirit gum, which is designed for skin-safe adhesion and lasts all night. You just need a tiny dab, wait for it to get tacky, and then press the gem firmly into place right between your eyebrows. It really pulls the whole Raven look together and makes it instantly recognizable! For the hair, Raven's usually depicted with dark, almost black hair, but my reddish-brown hair worked perfectly with a touch of dark hairspray to deepen the tone and make it look a bit more mysterious. If your hair isn't dark, a temporary black hair color spray or a wig would be fantastic options. And for character, I even practiced a bit of that winking and slightly snarling expression you sometimes see her make – it added so much personality to the photos! If you're feeling extra bold, a subtle nose ring like mine can add a modern edge to her classic design. The black top is simple but effective, letting the makeup and the gem really be the focus. Hope these tips help you create your own amazing Raven costume! It’s all about the details to truly bring her to life. Let me know if you try it!
