I almost never feel that “first glance spark”
I almost never feel that “spark” right away when I see someone. So I’m probably demisexual or greysexual (or something in that vibe), physical attraction just doesn’t hit me at first glance.
For me, it’s all about connection first. If we chat and laugh, if we get each other’s weird jokes or bond over random stuff, that’s when the attraction starts to grow. I don’t need someone to be “my type” looks wise from the jump, just someone whose face I find totally fine. Dating’s not about checking a box for instant chemistry, it’s about giving people a chance to show who they are.
And more often than not, when we click on a personality level? The physical stuff follows naturally. Would you go on a first date with someone you’re not immediately physically attracted to if their personality seemed awesome?
Many people believe that attraction should ignite instantly, but for those who identify as demisexual or greysexual, the experience is quite different. Instead of feeling a physical spark at first sight, attraction often grows from emotional and intellectual connections. This means laughing together, sharing unique jokes, and discovering common interests become the foundation of a deepening bond. The question, "Why would you agree to a first date with someone you are not physically attracted to?" highlights an important aspect of these orientations. Physical attraction does not necessarily precede emotional intimacy; instead, it tends to develop as trust, understanding, and shared experiences build over time. This shift challenges conventional dating norms that prioritize immediate chemistry and appearance. For individuals embracing this approach, dating becomes less about ticking the boxes of "ideal looks" or "instant chemistry" and more about giving people a genuine chance to reveal who they truly are. It is common for physical attraction to follow naturally once you click on a personality and emotional level. This authentic connection often leads to a more meaningful and lasting relationship. Recognizing that attraction isn't one-size-fits-all allows for more inclusive and mindful dating experiences. It encourages patience, openness, and valuing inner qualities, which can result in richer and more satisfying connections. So, when considering dating, it’s worth asking whether personality compatibility might be the door to developing deeper attraction, even if the "first glance spark" isn’t immediately felt.

I’m Demi myself, so I will definitely need to get to know them better before I can feel any type of spark. I almost never feel instant attraction.
