I picked 3 books to wrap up my November reads. I started reading All About Love some years ago but never finished. I’ve been meaning to pick it back up so and plan on finishing it this month. I enjoyed what I’ve read so far.
You Again looks like a cute fall read that’s been sitting on my self for a while now and I know I won’t read it until next fall if I don’t read it by Thanksgiving. I’m going in blind. Fingers crossed!
& lastly When the Moon Hatched. I’ve been hearing good things about this book but didn’t plan on reading/purchasing anytime soon it until I saw the sprayed edges. I’m a sucker for a pretty book.
... Read moreNovember always feels like a special time for reading, doesn't it? As the days get shorter and the air turns crisp, there's nothing quite like curling up with a good book. My recent picks – bell hooks' 'All About Love,' Kate Goldbeck's 'You, Again,' and Sarah A. Parker's 'When the Moon Hatched' – truly capture the spirit of this month for me.
'All About Love' feels so intentional for November. It’s a time for reflection and gratitude, and diving into such a profound exploration of love, community, and self-awareness really resonates. It makes me think deeply, which is perfect as we head towards the end of the year. Then there’s 'You, Again,' which is pure cute fall energy! Romantic comedies or heartwarming stories are ideal for those cozy, pre-holiday vibes. It's the kind of book that brings a smile to your face and offers a light, comforting escape, especially as Thanksgiving approaches. And 'When the Moon Hatched'? That’s where the magical element comes in! November can sometimes feel a bit grey, so escaping into a fantastical world with intricate world-building and a captivating plot is just what the doctor ordered. Plus, a pretty book with sprayed edges definitely adds to the magic of the reading experience!
But beyond my specific choices, what else makes for the *best books to read in NOVEMBER*? I find myself drawn to a few key themes and genres during this month. Cozy mysteries are always a hit – imagine solving a gentle whodunit while sipping hot tea. Historical fiction can also be incredibly immersive, transporting you to different times and offering a sense of connection to the past, perfect for reflective moments. For those who love a bit of escapism, epic fantasy or heartwarming contemporary fiction can provide that much-needed warmth. I also look for books that evoke a sense of gratitude or focus on family and friendship, as these themes align so well with the holiday season just around the corner.
When I’m trying to decide *what I'm reading*, I often consider the mood I'm in. Am I looking for something to challenge me, something to make me laugh, or something to completely lose myself in? I also love browsing new releases or revisiting old favorites that I know will bring comfort. Don't forget to check out bookstagram or booktube for inspiration, and sometimes, a beautifully designed cover or those lovely sprayed edges are enough to convince me!
So, as we settle into this beautiful month of *NOVEMBER*, I'd love to know: *What are you reading*? What books are making your list for a cozy, intentional, or magical fall? Share your recommendations – I'm always looking for my next great read!
