overwatch drawing of dva
Hey everyone! I'm so thrilled to share my latest D.Va fanart drawing with you all. It's truly a labor of love when it comes to illustrating characters from Overwatch, and D.Va has always been one of my absolute favorites to bring to life on paper (or screen!). When I started this piece, my main goal was to create something truly aesthetic D.Va fanart, focusing on her relaxed pose and signature look. For this particular drawing, I really wanted to capture a serene yet playful side of D.Va. I envisioned her just taking a moment to chill out, which led to the pose you see: lying on her back with her legs casually raised. It was a fun challenge to get the perspective right and make it look natural. Her iconic blue and pink suit is always a joy to render – those vibrant colors just pop! I spent a good amount of time ensuring the details of her suit, from the little accents to the overall sleekness, were just right. And of course, her long brown hair spread around her head adds to that dreamy, relaxed vibe I was going for. Creating Overwatch drawings like this is such a rewarding experience. There's so much depth to D.Va's character, from her pro-gamer background to her heroic pilot status, which makes her incredibly inspiring for fanart. I often get asked about my process for drawing D.Va. Typically, I start with a rough sketch to get the pose and proportions down. Then, I refine the lines, paying close attention to her facial expression and the details of her mech suit. For coloring, I love experimenting with soft gradients to give it that 'aesthetic' feel that many D.Va fanart pieces aim for. The lighting is also crucial – I try to use soft shadows to enhance the mood. If you're thinking of trying your hand at D.Va fanart or any Overwatch drawing, my biggest tip is to study her official art and in-game model. Look at how her blue and pink suit folds, how her hair falls, and the expressions she makes. Don't be afraid to experiment with different poses and styles. Some artists love creating action-packed scenes, while others, like me, enjoy those softer, more aesthetic depictions. It's amazing to see the variety of D.Va artwork out there, from detailed illustrations to cute chibis, even inspirations for D.Va cosplay TikToks! What kind of D.Va fanart do you enjoy seeing the most? Or what other Overwatch characters would you love to see me draw next? Let me know in the comments! I always love hearing from fellow fans and artists. Happy drawing!
