I literally tore down an idol with my own hands – not a physical statue, but something that had quietly consumed my focus and energy for far too long. When Abba (my spiritual guide/God) made it clear that “they had to go,” then that's exactly what happened. This wasn't just a decision; it was a liberating act that redefined what idolizing truly means to me and how we can break free from its grip. Many people ask, "what does idolized" mean? Or "what is the definition of idolized"? It's not always about worshipping a golden calf. For me, and perhaps for you, idolization meaning extends to anything we elevate above its rightful place – a relationship, a career, material possessions, social media validation, or even a particular outcome. It becomes an idol when it starts to dictate our peace, our joy, or our sense of self-worth, pushing genuine spiritual connection or personal well-being into the background. The Bible's definition of idolize is clear: anything that takes the place of God in our lives. It's about where our ultimate trust and devotion lie.
