Re- Valentines date with my husband.
So to start for Valentine’s Day my husband set up a double date with his friend and his wife. I was sad because we have a Valentine’s Day tradition to eat alone at the cheesecake factory and it’s just us. This is important to me because we have 3 kids and 0 alone time sometimes. I felt he had nothing to talk to me about because out of the blue, he decided to do a double date. Don’t get me wrong I love our friends! And double dates are so much fun! Just not on Valentine’s Day. Call me what you want but don’t call me 🌽. So my husband understood my feelings and re-made my Valentine's Day.
We went to the spa to get massages & a well-needed pedicure. My husband made sure no clear nail polish 😭🤣. Tho I reassured him it's a clean look, nice and fresh… After we went to eat at Smash Burger and our food was served by a robot cat. Which was amazing because hellloooo ROBOT CAT!?!? Finally, we went to Plato Closet (my favorite thrift store) and found platform crocks for 30 bucks!!! Brand new too! It was a great day. Just us, some burgers, and time that was spent together. Being married sometimes is rough. But you have to find ways to make it work. Remember you love each other and before you guys had kids, you only had each other. I appreciate my husband's understanding my feelings. And making our date simple and relaxing.
Valentine’s Day is a special occasion that many couples look forward to, yet it can sometimes become overshadowed by the busyness of family life. In this modern era, where balancing work, kids, and personal time can be challenging, it's essential to find ways to reconnect with your partner. One way to enhance your Valentine’s experience is to break away from traditional norms. While dinner at a classy restaurant is a popular choice, including activities that resonate with both partners can create lasting memories. A day spent at a spa, for example, provides relaxation and an intimate setting to talk without distractions. This can reinvigorate the relationship and help couples focus on their bond. Additionally, dining experiences that foster a sense of adventure, like trying out a new restaurant or engaging in activities that are fun and light-hearted, add to the enjoyment. For instance, witnessing a robot serve food not only provides entertainment but also sparks conversation and laughter. For couples who enjoy thrifting, visiting a local thrift store together can be an exhilarating and budget-friendly activity. Finding unique items can spark joy and create shared experiences, reinforcing the importance of making time for one another. Ultimately, it's about cherishing each other despite life's chaos and remembering the early days of your relationship, before kids and other responsibilities. Simple, thoughtful gestures and time spent together can nurture a partnership and make a significant impact on your relationship.
