What if you’re not lost… you’re just not done yet?
There’s something I’ve struggled to explain for years.
I’ve always felt like I was built for something more.
Every job.
Every skill I learned.
Every new direction I tried.
It always felt like a stepping stone — not the destination.
And that sounds ambitious… until you’re 10+ stepping stones in and still don’t know what the mountain top looks like.
It’s frustrating when:
You’re good at a lot of things
You adapt quickly
You can succeed almost anywhere
But nothing feels like home.
You don’t want “just a job.”
You want alignment.
Purpose.
Something that feels final.
Sometimes I wonder if the frustration isn’t confusion…
Maybe it’s growth.
Maybe some of us aren’t meant to settle early.
Maybe we’re meant to explore until something clicks.
And maybe the mountain isn’t something we arrive at.
Maybe we’re becoming it.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re meant for more but don’t know what “more” is yet… you’re not alone.

... Read moreI’ve often found myself in the same place described here—being good at many things yet struggling to find that one path that truly feels like 'home.' It’s a paradox: adaptability and success across different roles can sometimes make it harder to settle because there’s always something new to try. This sense of a journey made up of stepping stones rather than a final destination has helped me reframe my mindset.
The key insight is that maybe the feeling of being unsettled isn’t a problem but a sign of growth. Rather than interpreting this restlessness as being lost, it can be a sign that you’re evolving and preparing for something more aligned with your authentic self. It reminds me of a phrase I saw once: “Thor Ever feel meant for more... but don’t know what it is?” This perfectly captures the feeling of having potential and ambition without a clear picture of the end goal.
In my personal experience, embracing uncertainty allowed me to explore various skills and interests without the pressure to immediately define my ultimate path. Instead of rushing to find the ‘mountain top,’ I focused on enjoying each step of learning and adapting. Eventually, I realized that the journey itself was shaping me into the person I’m meant to be.
This perspective shift is powerful—it turns frustration into curiosity and confusion into growth. For anyone feeling like they’re not lost but not done yet, know that it’s okay. You’re on your way. The mountain you seek might not be a place you reach but the person you become along the way. Aligning your purpose isn’t about finding one final answer but becoming more of who you are through every experience. Keep exploring; your journey is unique, and the ‘more’ you feel meant for is unfolding in the process.
