Shared stories
Sharing my personal experience with mental illness and physical pain, I've found that incorporating arts and crafts into my daily routine provides tremendous relief and comfort. Activities like coloring, drawing, and painting not only engage my creativity but also serve as effective art therapy, helping me manage anxiety and stress. It’s amazing how dedicating time to creative hobbies can promote relaxation and improve sleep quality—even with an irregular sleep schedule. I also lean heavily on my faith as a follower of Jesus, which gives me hope and strength to face each day despite health struggles. Prayer time combined with music and art creates a peaceful environment that nourishes both my spirit and mind. Taking things one moment at a time and trusting in God’s guidance reassures me through my healing process. Additionally, being an animal lover who cares for two baby cats, Lucy and Callie, adds joy and companionship that enriches my lifestyle. Although I don’t have a green thumb, I enjoy flowers and plants, which bring natural beauty and calm into my living space. Previously, I was very physically active, regularly exercising and hitting the gym, but life changes led to gaining weight and less activity. Now, I’m working on rebuilding my health and fitness gradually, understanding that progress is a journey. Maintaining a balanced approach to physical health and mental wellness is essential. Through sharing these stories, I hope to motivate others who might feel alone. You’re not alone in your struggles, and finding your own combination of creative outlets, faith, and self-care can make all the difference. Taking time for yourself, embracing hobbies, and seeking spiritual support can profoundly impact your overall well-being and help you overcome life’s challenges.
