My recent trip there, especially exploring Monterrey, was filled with so many incredible experiences, and I can't wait to share my top tips and favorite spots for all the 'things to do in Nuevo León' that made my visit so special. First up, you simply cannot miss Parque Fundidora in Monterrey. It's not just a park; it's a massive urban oasis built on the grounds of a former iron and steel foundry. I spent an entire afternoon there, strolling along the Paseo Santa Lucía, a stunning artificial river that connects the park to the Macroplaza. You can take a boat ride, which was definitely one of my favorite 'Monterrey Nuevo León attractions' – it's so relaxing and offers amazing views of the city's landmarks. The park also has a museum, an ice rink, and plenty of green spaces to just chill out. Speaking of the Macroplaza, it's one of the largest plazas in the world, right in the heart of Monterrey. It's surrounded by beautiful historical buildings and modern architecture. I loved seeing the Faro del Comercio (Lighthouse of Commerce) and the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral. It's a great place to soak in the local atmosphere and get a feel for the city's pulse. Many of the 'things to do in Monterrey Nuevo León' will naturally lead you through this vibrant area. For a taste of nature, venture out to the Grutas de García (García Caves). This was an absolute highlight for me! Just a short drive from Monterrey, these ancient caves are spectacular. You take a cable car up the mountain, which offers breathtaking panoramic views, and then explore incredible rock formations inside the caves. It truly felt like stepping into another world. If you're into 'things to do in Nuevo León' that involve a bit of adventure and natural beauty, this is a must-see. Another great option for nature lovers is the Cola de Caballo Waterfall, a majestic cascade surrounded by lush greenery, perfect for a day trip. Now, while my main focus was on Nuevo León and Monterrey, I know some of you might be wondering about 'things to do in León, Mexico.' While it's a different state (Guanajuato), it's another fantastic Mexican city with its own unique charm! If you have extra time and are exploring more of Mexico, León is famous for its leather goods – shoes, bags, jackets – so it's a shopper's paradise. It also boasts beautiful colonial architecture, like the Templo Expiatorio, and a lively downtown area. It's a different vibe from Monterrey but equally rewarding in its own way. To make your trip to Nuevo León even better, here are a few personal tips: Food: Don't leave without trying cabrito (roasted goat), a local specialty in Monterrey. The street food scene around Barrio Antiguo is also incredible. Transportation: Uber is widely available and convenient in Monterrey. For longer excursions, consider renting a car or booking a tour. Best Time to Visit: Spring (March-May) or Fall (September-November) offer pleasant weather, avoiding the hotter summer months. I hope my experiences help you plan your own amazing journey through Nuevo León and Monterrey! There's so much to discover, and I promise you won't be disappointed!
